    DESCRIPTION

    Let your little ones learn lessons beyond classroom academics this June holidays. Over a 3-day art camp, your kids will learn important values like determination, cooperation, respect & resilience. Through unique art- making projects, they’ll also learn about the joy of thinking out of the box, identifying emotions as well as learning stress-coping strategies.

    Date: 20, 21, 22 June (Sunday – Tuesday) 
    Time 9.30am – 2.30pm (1h break from 11.30am-12.30pm)

    Perfect for kids aged 6-10

    Bottled water will be provided but do pack along light lunch/snacks for break time. 

    Day 1: Sunday (20 June)

    Session 1: I Am Creative 
    This colouring Activity allows kids to explore, have fun and be creative. This session encourages exploration with & without instructions to develop independence & confidence in their creativity. 

    Break for lunch/snack 

    Session 2: I Am In Touch With My Emotions 
    Kids get to create different emoticons that they are familiar with in this digital age. Using these emoticons, kids get to role-play and use the different emoticons to be in touch with their feelings and learn to express them in a free & safe environment. 
     

    Wrap up for the day. 

    Day 2: Monday (21June)

    Session 1: I am Resilient 
    During these unprecedented times, there are many stressors and challenges that children face that we may not be aware of. This session will help the kids to identify the challenges & stressors, and how to tap on various resources and coping strategies through group sharing. In this art activity, participants will make their own stress balls using balloons and green beans.

    Break for lunch/snack 

    Session 2: I Am Unique 
    Through abstract art-making, participants get to see that their creations are unique and they are encouraged to share their own strengths, skills, and talents.

    Wrap up for the day. 

    Day 3: Tuesday (22 June)

    Session 1: I am patient 
    In this session, the participants will be introduced to Zentangle drawing. Through the execution of repeat shapes and patterns, they will form a drawing, a line at a time. Participants are encouraged to break a difficult task to smaller parts and setting small goals. They are also guided to complete their task with patience. 

    Break for lunch/snack 

    Session 2: I Am Unique 
    Through Rorschach art, participants will create beautiful patterns which they will make into journal covers. They will also make journals for people they love, adding a message of love and appreciation in it. These journals will be presented to their recipients at the end of the course.

    Kuan Eng spent 20 years in advertising after graduating from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He made a career switch to social work in 2010 and now teaches art and runs art-led programmes in senior activity centres as well as student care centres.

    He believes that art can educate and empower individuals in ways beyond the end product. His workshops are always fun and engaging, ensuring that participants enjoy the process of creating art, regardless of what they are.

    Lunch Please note there will be a 1-hour break – you will need to pack a light snack or lunch for your child 

    Social Distancing The class size will be limited to 15 seats due to social distancing measures. Please take note that your child will need to keep their mask on at all times during the workshop. Temperatures will be taken at registration, and should the child show any flu-like symptoms or have a temperature above 37.5, they will be turned away 

    This is a drop-off workshop But you are welcome to spend your morning / afternoon at the garden centre while waiting.
