Anthuriums are epiphytic just like orchids & bromeliads.
Anthuriums flower every year, long-lasting flowers each lasts up to 6-7 weeks. When light levels are too low, the growth rate will be slow to none.
CARE AND GROWING TIPS:
Foliage/Indoor Plant
Exposure
Prefer moderate or medium light & need this exposure to bloom. In low light, plant will show little if any growth & there won’t be any flowering. Hot west exposure will burn the plant.
Prefer high humidity best at 50-60%
Water
Prefer moderate water not constantly wet.
Almost completely dry out before watering it again. Occasionally misting.
Soil
Prefer coarse, porous & rich.
Do well in sphagnum moss - 1/3 moss, 1/3 coco coir & 1/3 of succulent & cactus mix with a sprinkling of compost.
Repotting Anthurium every 2-4 years will be fine.
Fertilizer
Anthuriums like phosphorous for good roots & flowers & the overall growth & health.
Over fertilize salts build up & can burn the roots of the plant. This will show up as brown spots on the leaves.
REASONS YOUR PLANT MAY NOT BE DOING WELL:
You’re keeping it too wet.
It’s not getting enough light.
It’s planted in the wrong soil mix.
There’s not enough humidity.
