Let's Talk About Fresh Christmas Trees!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches!
Your boughs so green in summertime,
Stay bravely green in wintertime.
O tannenbaum, O Christmas tree
How lovely are thy branches!

With a variety of fresh trees to pick from year on year, how do you know which one is the perfect one for your home? So we went out there, and did a quick list on what differentiates each tree, so you can find the perfect tree for you!

Fraser fir is one of the most popular type due to superb needle retention, the Fraser fir has extremely strong branches, and soft, short (1-inch), blue-green needles with silvery undersides. Its sleek, narrow habit makes it ideal for tight spaces. And its open habit displays big ornaments well.

For people who prefer full, "fluffy" trees and an "evergreen" fragrance in your home throughout the season.

This is the tree that we at Sing See Soon have been bringing in for the last 5 years, and with proper care, can last from 4–6 weeks!

Noble fir One of most commonly fresh trees available in Singapore, but is also amongst the most expensive and has a shorter shelf life as it’s cut earlier due to longer shipping time required.

The Noble fir however is an attractive, soft-needled fir with a mildly weeping habit and short, slightly upturned needles that are dark-green to slightly bluish-green in color. The habit is nicely pyramidal and fairly dense. Branches are strong enough to support big ornaments.

Which one do you like for your home?

WE CARE FOR THE TREE BEFORE IT REACHES YOU!

So we did our homework – visiting and handpicking a farm that paid close attention to how their trees were cultivated, grown and harvested. And made sure they had sustainable farming practices.

Just before we deliver the trees to you, we hose the tree down to remove any excess pines that may have fallen during transport, and we trim 1-2 inches off the base, to ensure that the tree is ready to receive in as much fresh water as possible.

HOW YOU CAN CARE FOR YOUR TREE AFTER IT REACHES YOU
Once the tree is placed in its stand, make sure that the water level is always above the tree base – this will prevent the base from drying out, and a resin from forming over, preventing the tree from drinking in water. Once this happens, your tree will dry out very quickly.

Your tree will need 3L of water each day for the first 3-4 days. Make sure the water level does not drop below the tree base. There’s no need to add anything else, the Fraser fir loves fresh water. You can add in some ice to give it some cool water and please make sure it’s situated AWAY from direct sunlight.

It's such a beautiful time of the year and we are so excited to be bringing you fresh cut trees from our favourite sustainable farm in Canada.

Watch out for more of our Christmas range, coming real soon!

OH, and one last thing. REMEMBER, the Fraser fir is a tree from cool climes. PLEASE keep it away from direct heat and sunlight, and maintain hydration to keep your tree for as long as possible.

Happy tree shopping y'all
