Crinum 'Menehune' is a compact, short-lived perennial herb that sprouts from bulbs. Glossy, strap-shaped leaves with a sharp leaf apex and the entire leaf edge are dark purplish crimson in color (2.5 - 5 cm wide). They are arranged in a rosette and have a slightly pleated leaf surface.
